11-09-18 Stove Fire

Page Fire Department responds to the report of a stove on fire.


On Monday, November 12th, 2018 at 1534 hours Page Fire Department Units Ladder 1 (L-1) and Medic 10 responded to the area of Stone Cliff Dr. for a stove fire.
Upon arrival crews found heavy smoke coming from the front door. L-1 crew set up for an offensive attack and pulled 150 feet of hose to the front door. Crew made entry to the structure and made their way to the kitchen; they found the stove and wall behind the stove on fire. The decision was made to fight the fire with a water can in order to reduce the amount of damage to the residence.
The fire was extinguished at 1544 hours and crews began salvage and overhaul operations. A thermal imaging camera to look for any hot spots in the wall, and none were found. A vent fan was used to remove the remaining smoke from the structure and the building was turned over to the home owners. The cause of the fire was determined to be from cooking oil spill that caught fire.
Page Fire Department cleared the scene at 1623 hours.
